After watching Clay’s masterful interpretation of Oppenheimer, I realized that we need Oppenheimer’s wisdom today more than ever! - A. Halle, Reno, Nevada
J. Robert Oppenheimer was the father of the atomic bomb. He was immensely learned, curious, humane, cultured, organized, and it turned out, deadly beyond all previous manifestations of the species. He methodically developed the most destructive device the world has ever known. But when he saw what he had done, he shrank back in horror and quoted from the sacred Hindu text, the Bhagavad-Gita, “I am become death, the shatterer of worlds.” Oppenheimer exemplifies the paradox of the twenty-first century: technological mastery coupled with a problematic moral development.
